I had the patience and attention span to do a 365-project...
I was looking around Ravelry at the squares, and came upon a blog of a lady who did a Square-A-Day 365 Project, and that made me think that I should do one too. I can manage a square a day...I believe...I'd hope so at least. So I'm going to start this soon, after I find the squares I want to do. I have a ton to choose from!

A runner for the bar in the kitchen.
From the book, "Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs" by Edie Eckman.
Super simple and easily memorized. Joining as I go, three rows wide.

They call him...Noah Dipey Pants!
So I finally made something I meant to make way before this little dude came along.
No, I don't use cloth, I wish I could, but I don't have access to a washer and dry 24/7.

Pill Buddy!
So I came up with this last night, as my hubby was trying his best to calm down our poor teething 3 month old son. I kept saying "Take a chill pill kid" and DING! The idea to make a chill pill! It's super simple and quick. Then I started having all these ideas for different types of pills. The pattern will be up as soon as I get it perfected. There will be different sizes and types, there's sure to be one for everyone!
This one is just the first of many pill buddies! Not sure what I'm going to call this one.

Baby Clams
I'm in the (very slow coming) process of making some baby items for a friend's new grandson. Right now I'm making a blanket.
Here's what it looks like so far:
Stitch Pattern is from "50 Stitches for Afghans" by Darla Sims, block #25
I'm using some leftover baby yarn from one of Noah's blankets, there's almost a full ball of each color...
Bernat Baby Sport in Tangerine and Baby Yellow.
OH and Ravelry hates me...I can't access my profile... *sad sad face*

Layout for the Peacock
I made 6 peacock squares, then realized I had no clue how many I need...so I made a layout!
Blue: 57
Grey: 56
Purple: 56
Each square is approx 5" so I should end up with a 5' x 5.5' afghan/throw...hopefully.

Stars and Squares
I finished Noah's Star Bunting last Sunday. It took the hubby and I almost and hour to figure out how to hang it and to actually get it up on the wall. Needless to say these star ARE NOT coming down! We had to measure the wall, then the bunting and figure out how in the world we were gonna do it. Intially, I wanted the stars to hang down, but it didn't work out that way...so here's what it looks like::
And...Did I show you this yet? I don't think I have.
I started these a couple of weeks ago. They're for an afghan I'm calling "Peacock." The motif is from "Beyond the Square: Crochet Motifs" by Edie Eckman.
Now I'm working on a few dishcloths and scrubbies. Here's what I have so far::
The second one is also from "Beyond the Square: Crochet Motifs"

Testing...Testing...1 2 3
I made a tester star last night while rocking Noah to sleep. It took about 45 minutes, and came a little bigger than I though it would. Asked the hubby this morning if he thought it was too big and he said (of course) "No, it's perfect sweetie."
Here it is:
Each star should take about 21.5 yds, and they will not be solid colored, they will be multi-colored like the motif pattern photo shows. I still need to get more lemonade. I only have about 3/4 or less of a skein. But other than that this project is good to go. Might try another star motif with a smaller hook and see what that looks like.

Noah's Star Bunting
Discussed this idea with the hubby and he loved it. Noah's room needs a little pick me up, and this is perfect. Here's my plan, using my new book and G hook:
Close up of the motif:
Ignore my shadow...
So what do you think?

New Book...Tons of Ideas!!
So I finally sat down today and looked through my new book, "Beyond the Square: Crochet Motifs," and I picked a motif! It's a square, of course, something easy, yet beautiful. I'm using Caron Simply Soft in Iris, Charcoal Grey and Ocean, they will be joined with Raspberry. I've made two so far, and loving this pattern.
Here's one square, I'll post more photos later.
Isn't it purty?
Also I want to make a bunting for Noah's room...not sure what colors though. I do have a few ideas, since his theme is basically Noah's Ark, and the colors in there right now are green, brown, blue and white, I might just go with those and find some way to incorporate animals into it.

So Fresh!
Crocheted Panda has a new look!
I learned how to dye wool with kool-aid and dyed my first skein...er partial skein...of wool. I didn't use kool-aid because I didn't have any, but I did have Crystal Light Rasperry Lemonade. The yarn I used was Yarn Bee Melody Wool Blend Bulky. It came out pretty good considering this yarn has an acrylic wrap and was originally black-grey-white ombre. I've also been working on hexagons using up my Red Heart scraps, I plan on making a scrappy-ghan.

Something Old...
I was at my mom's for a few days, and while I was there my aunt gave me a bag full of blankets and afghans that belonged to my MawMaw, in this bag was an unfinished aghan that she had started over a decade ago, she passed away when I was 12, so it's been 14+ years. I immediately knew I had to channel my inner MawMaw and finish it. The pattern is Playblocks. She used scrap Aran WW yarn, I believe. I have tons of scraps and the pattern is quick and easy. My only problem is, I can't randomly chose colors! I have this complusive disorder and can't just grab a color and start crocheting...guess it's time to learn how to be random!
