Pill Buddy!

So I came up with this last night, as my hubby was trying his best to calm down our poor teething 3 month old son. I kept saying "Take a chill pill kid" and DING! The idea to make a chill pill! It's super simple and quick. Then I started having all these ideas for different types of pills. The pattern will be up as soon as I get it perfected. There will be different sizes and types, there's sure to be one for everyone!

This one is just the first of many pill buddies! Not sure what I'm going to call this one.

Baby Clams

I'm in the (very slow coming) process of making some baby items for a friend's new grandson. Right now I'm making a blanket.

Here's what it looks like so far:

I'm using some leftover baby yarn from one of Noah's blankets, there's almost a full ball of each color...
Bernat Baby Sport in Tangerine and Baby Yellow.

Layout for the Peacock

I made 6 peacock squares, then realized I had no clue how many I need...so I made a layout!



Blue: 57
Grey: 56
Purple: 56

Each square is approx 5"  so I should end up with a 5' x 5.5' afghan/throw...hopefully.

Blueberry Pie Dishcloth Set Pattern #2

Dishcloth pattern #2 of the Blueberry Pie set. Enjoy!

Materials:
Same as for pattern #1

Stitches Used:
Chain (ch)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)
Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Ch 50
Row 1:  dc in 4th ch from hook (3 sk ch count as first dc) and in ea ch across.

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), turn, fpdc in next 2 sts, bpdc in next st, *fpdc in next 3 sts, bpdc in next st* rep across to last 3 sts, fpdc in next 2 dc, hdc in last st.

Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc) turn, dc in 2 sts, fpdc in next st, (dc in next 3 sts, fpdc in next st* rep across, dc in last 3 sts.

Repeat rows 2-3 till dishcloth measures approx. 5 1/2 in.
Working in rounds from here.

Rnd 1: ch 1, *sc in ea st across, 3 sc in corner, 2 sc in ea dc/hdc edge, 3 sc in corner* rep around, sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: ch 1, *sc in st across, 3 sc in corner (the middle stitch of the previous 3-sc corner)* rep around, sl st to first sc.

Finish off. Weave in ends.

Blueberry Pie Dishcloth Set Pattern #1

I've only made one so far. I plan on making as many as I can in different stitch patterns. Look for them! All will be made with the same color threads, doubled.

Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet Cotton Thread Size 10 in purple and parakeet (I believe parakeet is the right name, I lost the wrapper for the blue.) or you can use any bright blue and purple thread.
Size C hook
Yarn needle

sc-single crochet
fpdc- front post double crochet
bpdc- back post double crochet

Special Stitch:
Double Crochet Cluster V-Stitch (abbr. dc-v): *yo, insert hook in st/sp indicated, yo & pull up loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook, rep from * once more, yo & draw through all 3 loops on hook; ch 1; *yo, insert hook in st/sp indicated, yo & pull up loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook, rep from * once more, yo & draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Pattern:

Ch 43
Row 1: work dc-v in 5th ch from hook (4 sk chs count as first dc and 1 sk ch), sk next ch, dc in next ch, *sk next ch, dc-v in next ch, sk next ch, dc in next ch* rep across

Row 2: ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout) turn, dc-v in next ch-1 sp, *bpdc around next dc, dc-v in next ch-1 sp* rep across, dc in last dc.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc-v in next ch-1 sp, *fpdc in next bpdc dc-v in next ch-1 sp* rep across, dc in last dc.

Repeat Row 3-4 till dishcloth is about 6 in.

Stars and Squares

I finished Noah's Star Bunting last Sunday. It took the hubby and I almost and hour to figure out how to hang it and to actually get it up on the wall. Needless to say these star ARE NOT coming down! We had to measure the wall, then the bunting and figure out how in the world we were gonna do it. Intially, I wanted the stars to hang down, but it didn't work out that way...so here's what it looks like::

I started these a couple of weeks ago. They're for an afghan I'm calling "Peacock." The motif is from "Beyond the Square: Crochet Motifs" by Edie Eckman.

Now I'm working on a few dishcloths and scrubbies. Here's what I have so far::
